Congratulations to Crate&Barrel for winning the 2014 ICSC U.S. Design and Development Awards. The ICSC U.S. Design and Development Awards honored the premier design and development trends of retail projects, new developments, renovation and expansion projects, and retail store design within the United States. Both Crate&Barrel in Atlanta, GA and CB2 in Minneapolis, MN were recognized for their design and won in the Retail Store Design category.

Crate&Barrel was designed with a two-story glass façade to create transparency to bring natural light into the selling space. The 25,000-square-foot store was created as part of the re-branding of an urban retail project. The interior design includes important elements such as character-grade oak flooring and punch windows that accentuate the décor.

As part of an urban revitalization project, CB2 from Crate&Barrel worked with the City of Minneapolis to design a unique, site-specific home furnishings store. Measuring 12,000-square-foot, the store addresses important contextual elements of the site, including a tall lofted space and warehouse windows in the façade filter, which add drama and texture.
